iPhone 4 in New Zealand vs. United States

Michael Sampson - Currents

The New Zealand Dollar to United States Dollar is at or near it's all time high. Today US$100 is equivalent to NZ$124. Seven or eight years ago, it was US$100 to NZ$220. Today's situation is great if you're buying stuff from the US (books from Amazon.com, for example), but terrible if you're earning US currency. Anyway, I can't figure out why products are becoming more expensive in New Zealand - such as the Apple iPhone 4.
