SCoPE Seminar: Digital Badges Implementation

Jenny Connected

What has been most interesting for me during this seminar, is my own feeling of discomfort with all this discussion about badges. I have felt the same about this seminar. Peter Rawsthorne spoke to the SCoPE community about badge system design and implementation in a live webinar last night. See the SCopE site for a recording. Peter is a mine of information about this subject ( see his blog ). It seems that digital badges are probably here to stay.

Contact me ( eva-schiffer@web.de ) and we will figure out if I can give one of my free brown bag seminars at your location. Sometimes the seed for a future collaboration is planted in a brown bag seminar. Dutch Innovation Seminar 2008

On October 9, a beautiful autumn day, I went to the De Baak estate, in the wooded centre of the country to attend the Dutch Innovation Seminar 2008. The seminar comprised a couple of keynote addresses, as well as a number of workshops, and lots of opportunity to network in a very pleasant atmosphere. De Baak is a well-known training institute, established by the largest employers’ organization in the Netherlands.

Technology in a cold climate - follow the seminar

Social Reporter

I’m at the RSA today helping report a seminar on Technology in a Cold Climate … which is only indirectly about weather. It’s about how technologies can help us in hard time, with presentations on four papers: one on technology’s application to delivering better and more cost-effective public services. one on the benefits of greater digital connectivity. one that looks at the potential of technology to transform society towards a more sustainable form.

Net-Map Toolbox

Eva, Just wanted to note — I took action as a result of the Net-Map session last week and things are moving in a better direction here as a result. The technique helped our team quickly get good perspective on how to advance the issue we are working on — key players, linkages between them, gaps and leverage points in the social network. That helped us go to work right away with an effort that is already making an impact. Thank you! Vikram. Washington, DC

They want to move into the KM seminar space, and they asked if we would provide marketing support for an upcoming seminar in August. Hmm hmmm, I thought, looking at the seminar flyer, this looks like quite a good workshop, and I happen to know the presenter, a leading light in KM from Australia. I suggested a toipic that wouldn’t clash with the Judgement Day seminar, and I dropped Judgement Day a line as well to keep them in the loop.
