The 2009 Kellogg Food and Society Gathering for Good Food began 45 minutes ago here in San Jose. This year, the Fairmont San Jose has realized that providing wireless means people can talk live about how great your hotel is. Two and a half days of conversation is now underway. The gathering will feature a nearly full day in Open Space tomorrow and a participatory half day of closing. Today is the kick off - speakers and presenters and so on.

The top four were, in order, San Francisco, San Jose, Calif., The NetProspex rankings are posted and I was pleased to see that my current town of Boston ranked fifth on the NetProspex list. New York, Austin, Texas. They also monitored the social media activity of employees at many companies in the US, and ranked them according to overall activity.   This order makes intuitive sense.   New Orleans, my home town, was ranked 48 as it has better things to do.

I went last year in the November to the combined conference in San Jose. This year's KM World Conference & Exhibition has moved to Washington, D.C. It will be November 16 - 18, 2010 at Marriott Renaissance, The Enterprise Search Summit 2010 will be at the New York Hilton on May 11-12. It is nice to see these two conferences on the East Coast. I will be presenting at the Enterprise Search Summit 2010 with my Darwin Colleague, Thierry Hubert.

KMWorld 2009 is on in San Jose CA in November 2009 (17-19th). Xobni Plus. Xobni released Xobni Plus, a premium-edition of its Outlook plug-in for email management. Xobni Plus' main focus is on stronger search capabilities. The initial version provided results for keywords and people, but now users have other search fields, such as for appointments and tasks.

Yesterday I was wrapping up the 2009 Good Food Gathering in San Jose and I took a CalTrain up to SFO, hopped an Air Canada flight to Calgary, spent the night there, and flew to Winnipeg early this morning where I joined national gathering of Aboriginal youth who are meeting to thinking about how to renew a very successful federal government program. I was talking to my daughter tonight on the phone.
