San Francisco

Michael Sampson - Currents

Last month I flew to San Francisco for a week of meetings. Some comments about San Francisco and the time there: 1. That was true for our three days of meetings in San Francisco too. We made good use of the collaboration and communication tools available to us to bridge the geographical divide, including a Surface Hub at Silverside HQ in Rotterdam, a couple of Surface Pro 4’s in San Francisco, and Skype for Business.

San Francisco (Day 1.3)

Michael Sampson - Currents

I arrived on Thursday afternoon to a very warm 27 degrees in San Francisco. I caught the right train, the workshop went great, and then caught the train back to Millibrae, caught the BART to San Bruno and then back to SFO, and am now waiting to check-in for SFO to Auckland. The United flight from London to here went smoothly for the most parts, interspersed with a few shocking bumps now and then. I had an aisle seat on the exit row, so lots of leg room.

CREDANT Technologies recently undertook a survey of hotels in San Francisco, asking about lost mobile devices. It published the results as an infographic. Over some period of time (undefined in the infographic): - Over 2000 mobile devices were lost/left behind. - 80% of devices were smartphones. Almost half of lost devices are never claimed. How can you leave your phone behind, seriously? Is this the way to get a new phone?
