Open learning advance organisers

Jenny Connected

The opening synchronous meeting for the Critical Literacies course was very interesting, as unlike for CCk08 where we just pitched in and sank or swam, here we were given advice on how we might go about learning on this course. Remix. Remix: Pick and choose from the content and find a way of recording/keeping track of this, e.g. using an online bookmark tracker such as Delicious, or create a blog, or take screenshots and post on Flickr or record yourself on video.

Is structure counter to cMOOC philosophy?

Jenny Connected

it’s quite difficult to find the content and it seems that there are not going to be any synchronous sessions, where people could gather/connect if they so wished. I don’t see that the principles of connectivism – autonomy, diversity, openness and interaction across distributed platforms, or the key activities of cMOOCs – aggregate, remix, repurpose, feedforward, necessarily militate against structure or a curriculum.

Constraints and Change in ChangeMooc

Jenny Connected

The MOOC design philosophy is based on the principles of autonomy, diversity, openness and connectedness and on four types of activity – aggregate, remix, repurpose and feed forward. There is a structure in MOOCs – in Changemooc this is the Daily Newsletter, the weekly synchronous session, the schedule and so on.

Notes from the Opening General Session at IBM Connect 2013

Michael Sampson - Currents

Three big enablers - (a) technology - cameras, laptops, video online, social networking, (b) community - started small, and grew gradually / organically, and positive feedback for the people doing great work, and (c) remix - needing to overcome the premium of "my original work," and allowing people to build on the ideas of other people. FileSync capability for integrating / synchronizing across multiple devices.

An Idea Worth Spreading: The Future is Networks « emergent by design

John Tropea - Delicious Network

But I really have to say your thinking parallels mine in this moment (the synchronicity of thought reaching into this networked system to locate exactly what it is seeking?) emergent by design Home who’s the architect?
