Blogging is Still a Good Complement for Your Small Business Web Site

In the past three years there was a steady increase in company blogs with a rise from 38% in 2008 to 45% in 2009 to 50% in 2010 as reported by the Center for Marketing Research at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Here is useful data from a recent study of over 1,500 HubSpot customers (mostly small- and medium-sized businesses). 795 of the businesses in my sample blogged, 736 didn't.

City of San Francisco Crowdsources More Good Ideas

My state of Massachusetts supplied another recently. So Massachusetts wanted to be one of the first states to have an open data site.  Here is more on how the City of San Francisco in its quest to save money, increase revenues and spur innovation turned to its 26,000 employees for solutions. In a matter of weeks, nearly 600 ideas were submitted and more than 4,000 votes cast via its ImproveSF.org program. This program was created with a SF-based company Brightidea Inc.
