How about hanging out at the beach, learning Net-Map and meeting about 1000 highly intelligent social network analysis experts of every discipline, who do everything from crazy complex quantitative stuff to anthropologically observing network development on the ground?

Portals and KM Blog Begins it Eighth Year

Portals and KM

These other blogs all publish on different schedules but the Portals and KM blog has posted at least once daily since it’s beginning with a brief lapse when I went to Italy in the summer of 2005. It is hard to imagine that I have been writing this blog for over seven years now. I certainly would not have predicted that when I started the blog on May 2, 2004 with three posts: Is KM the Killer App for Portals? Some good articles on blogs and blogs on blogs , and Is RSS TNBT ?

Social Media Flies Past Email and Search for Web Usage

Ross also lists the top countries in social media and blog usage: Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, U.K., I can remember when Email and Search were the top two in Web usage (aside from porn). Ross Dawson recently shared (on his blog) a new Nielsen report with detailed statistics on online activity that I learned about from his Twitter feed.

Updated Index to Cities and Towns with Restaurant Picks ??? August 2014

Lucca, Italy. Lugano, Italy. I have now provided restaurant picks by friends for an increasing number of cities and towns. I also do a few myself. This blog post serves as an index to them with links for easy access. I will continue to update this index as I add more places. It is past time to update it as I last posted the index on May 2010. Why do I write about restaurant picks by friends when Zagat and other places have plenty of reviews for most cities?

#e2conf 2011 Highlights – Offline Social Networking Still Rules!

Reflections on the Social Business Forum 2012 - Milan

Governance in a Networked World

I met up with Professor Lev at a small conference in Matera, Italy in 2007. Well that’s it for another year, Forum No.5 for Open Knowledge and a far cry from the initial, much more intimate, affair in Varese in 2008. Back in 2008 Blogs, wikis, Facebook and Twitter were just a novelty. The growth in attendance year by year is testimony to the growth of the ’Social Business’ towards the mainstream.
