Macquarie is currently in the process of dumping its in-house Novell GroupWise email infrastructure and moving 6,000 staff to Google’s Gmail platform; a move that comes after the university already shifted some 68,000 students into Google’s cloud. Day CQ 5.3. Day Software released version 5.3 of its content management system, and included new social collaboration capabilities, among others. Social Collaboration adds new support for Social Calendaring.

The Storm 2 retains all the enterprise-friendly features of its predecessor, which means it can receive push over-the-air e-mail, calendar, and contact information from companies with Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino, and Novell GroupWise setups. Tandberg Says No to Cisco.

If you look at all workspace products: Novell Groupwise/Sitescape, EMC/Documentum's eRoom, Lotus QuickPlace/Quickr, and others presenting themselves as virtual team rooms for sharing files (i.e., Thomas Vanderwal posted an article on Microsoft SharePoint 2007 that has caught traction on other blogs ( Sharepoint as a Gateway Drug to Greater Efficiency. ) and on Twitter.
