JANUARY 13, 2015
I therefore completely understand that facilitators of learning and change processes and trainers/teachers can''t see the wood for the trees. I have good news: I can recommend a group of 10 tools that are so useful that each facilitator needs to know them and should be able to use them. I think there are many facilitators already doing this. Furthermore, as a facilitator of a group you can create a list for others to follow, participants or around a particular topic.

The Changing Role of the Learning Facilitator
NOVEMBER 8, 2012
There is an intense discussion going on in the CPsquare community at the moment about the work of learning facilitators. Quite a few members of the CPsquare community work independently as community facilitators or for an organisation. Others like myself, are members of CPsquare not so much because we work as community facilitators, but because we are interested in social learning theory and how people learn in communities of practice.

Facilitation tips for improvisers
SEPTEMBER 26, 2012
There’s also jargon around facilitation. One of my big insights at this year’s Applied Improvisation Network Conference in San Francisco was about how to explain some facilitation concepts to improvisers, especially those who are mainly theatre improvisers, and maybe unaware of some of the traps of taking what works well on the theatre stage onto the corporate or conference stage. The same is true of facilitating. Learn about the bones of facilitation.

Why do groups need a facilitator?
APRIL 2, 2013

7 conditions for a great facilitated workshop
MAY 30, 2011
Remember that you are facilitating a workshop, not chairing a meeting, and participants deserve to know why they are there, when to arrive and when they can leave. I once knew a facilitator who didn’t own a suit and he would tell clients that if they needed him to wear a suit then they’d have to find another facilitator. So relax and trust your skills as a facilitator and your intuition to know what will serve the group and the purpose. Facilitation

Nothing worse than a facilitator?
JUNE 8, 2011
′ when this jumped out at me: “In recent years, PowerPoint’s bullet list structure has been so overused that it can be more of a turn off than a facilitator.. The two not-so-secret secrets about Creative Facilitation
OCTOBER 23, 2016
There’s no big secret to Creative Facilitation , it comes down to two things: using creative processes that allow people to really participate, and showing up as a facilitator that people feel able to trust. We don’t believe in facilitation-as-usual and therefore don’t do training-as-usual. And Johnnie Moore has a two-day workshop in Cambridge – that also covers how to perform as a facilitator – on January 9 and 10.
