The group, as it often is, is from varying backgrounds, brought together through facilitation work and the interest in taking the work further and deeper. We also practiced the art of facilitation itself, along with some live graphic recording or sketch noting.

Some things that work in real reconciliation dialogue

Chris Corrigan

Our client did an incredible job of preparing multiple stakeholders to participate in this discussion, by meeting each group personally and hearing their thoughts on the situation. All the stakeholders, twenty in total, agreed to come to a two hour dialogue to discuss the issues at hand.

Reflections on PGviz18

This was a fitting place for our circle discussions which focused on facilitation techniques but also deeper societal issues. This was a fitting start as much of what we do as graphic facilitators is try to understand how our tools can be of service to support others in their path.

Exploring future possibilities by mapping “dispositionalities”

Chris Corrigan

Today he’s discussing “ dispositionality ” which simply means that making change in a system is much easier when you have a sense of what the system is pre-disposed to do (and what it is NOT pre-disposed to do…). We deliberately created a space where things were allowed to fail or radically change and we harvested learning all the way along. The tyranny of flipcharts

Chris Corrigan

This does not facilitate a good flow in a conversation, and it is rarely a useful harvest of a discussion. Putting the harvest tool in the middle of the table allows everything we are doing to be directed towards the centre. This is the basis of the way we harvest in World Cafe and it is brilliant. It democratizes the harvesting tools in a powerful way. Tags: Art of Harvesting Art of Hosting Facilitation World Cafe Flipcharts.
