A Cure for Listless Tweeting: “Tweet to List”

Alchemy of Change

Some care about CRM but not democracy. When I go on a big tweet fest on democracy for a few days, my CRM-loving followers may start to wonder whether following me was such a great idea – and may even unfollow me as a result. Tweet.

Local democracy is important: but will we vote for it?

Social Reporter

It’s a good time to talk about local democracy – whether the type you vote for, the type you get involved in, or both – and so I’m looking forward to the Create a Council event in London tomorrow evening. NALC quotes with approval Stephen Fry’s tweet “For a raft of ideas on how to live a happier, local life grab the members benefits of Your Square Mile ” – and then argue that local councils go one step further than the YSM offering.

Local democracy is a competitive business: how can Create a Council be more engaging?

Social Reporter

It was a great treat to see Ellie Stoneley, who is tweeting furiously for @createacouncil, along with her #unbornbaby, and then read afterwards about her trip to the smoke. Will local councils be any different, or just there for the representative democracy wonks?

Stealing the promise of democracy

Chris Corrigan

You might think that, in a working democracy, even such a radical plan as this would be allowed the time to be discussed. I tweet, email and phone my MP, John Weston, who is a Conservative but he never responds. Democracy is not about voting once every four years and living with the results. The promise of democracy has been violated. Today I am very sad about the current state of our country.

If Companies are People, Where’s Their Soul?

Alchemy of Change

This legal fiction serves a number of practical purposes, but over time, the courts have gradually expanded the implications of corporate personhood in ways that undermine democracy in this country. Our democracy suffers today from the undo influence of money in our politics. Tweet.
