I have been using Evernote intensively for much of this year, and I think I'm hitting its limits - and far too soon for my liking. I only have 408 items across 6 Evernote notebooks. For example, I'm typing a sentence, finish typing the words, and Evernote is a few words behind. I really like Evernote - for it's cross-platform support (Mac, PC, and iPad especially), the cloud-based synchronization service, the tags across notebooks, and more.

Evernote for BlackBerry. Evernote released a client for the BlackBerry. Evernote for BlackBerry is available from the BlackBerry App World and is free for the taking. Evernote is also GPS location-aware making it a full-function note app for all Crackberries to enjoy. As with all versions of Evernote, notes are synced with the Evernote cloud service. Evernote – As I mentioned in my iPad post, Evernote has gotten a lot of press. Dropbox – OK, one last iPad post reference… Dropbox is fantastic for Finder integrated file syncing to the cloud. I recently posted my collection of “ Must Have iPad Apps “, and I thought I’d do the same thing for my favorite Mac apps. The ease of doing note taking using Internet services such as Evernote, though, and its support for a range of devices, should give vendors of "centralized knowledgebase architecture" systems cause to sit up and take note. Evernote and its ilk are good products - I rely extensively on Evernote for a variety of tracking and research purposes.

I have submitted to the cloud. I now use Evernote for almost everything, taking notes on client calls, recording ideas, clipping web pages (that and Instapaper has replaced delicious for me). I create first drafts in Evernote too, and record a daily journal. I can record audio and video and with my phone it’s all online and in the cloud. There is even a plugin for Google Chrome that will search your Evernote notebooks, as well as returning Google results.

Every time anything goes in those folders, it’s backed up to the cloud. Evernote – A great deal of ink (virtual and otherwise) has been spilled about how great Evernote is. As my friends, colleagues, and random strangers have learned, I love apps. I have tested, played, installed/uninstalled a metric ton of apps of various sorts. With the release of the iPad, several folks have asked me lately for my suggestions of must-have iPad apps.
