Blogger integrates feedburner feeds

Joitske Hulsebosch

A short blogpost to alert all blogger-bloggers to the fact that feedburner and blogger have apparently collaborated to make the integrating of a feedburner feed into your blogger blog easy. Having a feedburner feed is very useful if you want to monitor the subscriptions to your blog.

The Selfish Blogger Syndrome

Jenny Connected

‘Selfish Blogger’ – This jumped out of the page of Tony Bates’ blog post. He has been bemoaning the fact that there has been little discussion around his presentation to Change MOOC – and that the discussion that there has been, has been distributed across people’s blogs and he has had to go out and find it to collate it on his blog. As an aside – I’m not sure that we could class people individually posting to their blogs as discussion.

The Selfish Blogger – A discussion :-)

Jenny Connected

Its ironic that having said that I don’t see blogs as a discussion tool…. “I I don’t see blogs as a discussion tool, for the average person like me. They might be a discussion tool for people like Tony Bates, Stephen Downes, George Siemens and others who have a well-recognized reputation and likely a lot of hits and comments on their blogs. But for people like me, my blog is not a discussion venue.”. On reflection I find blogging just a bit too distant for discussion.

Blogs as boundary objects

Mathemagenic

This is a piece from the current version of final chapter of my dissertation where I discuss blogging across various boundaries. While blogging might provide a window onto practices of the blogger, on a surface weblog is just an artefact: text, links and bits of other media.

What pragmatists might want to know about blogging

Mathemagenic

Behind my PhD research is an interest in translating practices of early adopters of weblogs into something that those that come after them might use: an understanding of relative advantage of blogging in knowledge-intensive environments and it’s compatibility with existing practices. Wondering how far it makes sense: would you show it to a colleague thinking about starting blogging? Is blogging for me? Bloggers discover each other through comments and recommendations.

Mathemagenic

This is a piece from the current version of final chapter of my dissertation where I discuss blogging across various boundaries. Corporate Blogging Goes Mainstream – Happy Bloggiversary elsua!

Elsua

Remember when people used to claim that blogs are dead and how more and more social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and the like, were taking over our social activities both inside and outside of the firewall? The interesting thing though is to always come back to the blog.

Blog as an edge zone

Mathemagenic

I’ve been playing with city-related metaphors for a long time, heavily inspired by the book by Danish architect Jan Gehl “ Life between buildings “ Now I tie together multiple fragments of it in a final chapter of my dissertation, using it to explain the ‘front porch’ nature of blogging and its impact for emergent social processes. Blogging can support various personal activities that do not require interaction. Integration

Collaborative Thinking

Walking The Talk » February 19, 2008 Blogging Without Permission This story is a reminder that in many states, employers are free to terminate an employee (even one that is highly valued) on many different grounds - grounds which might come across as reasonable to some and absurd to others. Facilitating adoption of weblogs in knowledge-intensive environments

Mathemagenic

Promised to blog this piece from the dissertation in February (together with What pragmatists might want to know about blogging ), but wasn’t happy with it. Blogging provides a low-threshold opportunity to write down ideas not related to current deadlines, but important to prepare for the future. Bloggers might use their weblogs to document their experiences and lessons learnt – those that escape official reports, but are usually very useful for others to learn from.

It also means that we can integrate the elements and that users can dive in, immerse themselves in the resources, and develop a live culture of learning the language. Hank Horkoff’s first ChinesePod blog post explained this pretty well in September 2005.
