Media spaces integrate audio, video and computertechnology to provide a rich, malleable infrastructure for workgroupcommunication across time and space. Its no accident that these experimental audio-video environmentsare called Media Spaces , not Media Places. Both experiments linked public spaces in R&D officeenvironments with audio and video, to foster informal communication.However, the groups had very different experiences of the successesand failures of their connections.
