So that’s why I was so interested today to stumble on a relatively new article rating system within Wikipedia. The Gillmor article is the only one I’ve seen it on so far. The Wikipedia community is well aware of the criticisms of its reliability.

After getting over my initial shock I realised that these comments were actually doing me a favour…they created a heated debate between those who loved my poem and those who didn’t…this led to much more traffic to my article than I would have got if all the comments were positive.

Facebook Open Stream API (summary of articles)

Collaborative Thinking

I'm playing with the Facebook AIR application. Works ok. I can see my activity stream now without going to the Facebook web site. My first thought is how people will react as applications (e.g., Xobni) begin leaking out activity stream information into totally different application contexts. Facebook does not do a very good job at all (in my opinion) when it comes to: Informing users as to which Facebook Connect applications are accessing their data for external purposes.

Engineers without Fears

I've been writing a fair few articles recently (as you can see ). articles writingIt's partly because I like writing and find it fairly straightforward (altho I haven't heard about the last one I submitted - so it'll probably get rejected and I'll be left feeling a little less smug). I can also justify it as "marketing". I'm feeling a little stale tho. So over to you. Feel free to suggestion publications (& topics) that I should pitch to and I'll give it a go.

Mainstream editors will get articles from bloggers with audience

Laurel Papworth- Social Network Strategy

Why traditional media editors will turn to bloggers for articles in the future. If you are managing a newspaper or TV station or radio, will you contract out work to a freelance journalist… or will you ask a known expert that blogs to write the article? Endless Knots

Matthew Guerrieri appears to be a perfectly competent journalist and, judging by this article , a good writer. Why, then, does he revert to juvenile trash talk in describing Margaret Fuller ? Won't repeat how he describes her but. it's typical. A brilliant, forceful woman reduced to being a trinket for the men around her. Really, Mr. Guerrieri. Made me so mad I wrote a Letter to the Editor of The Boston Globe. We shall see, we shall see.

My Reactions to an Article on "Effective Enterprise Collaboration Strategy"

Michael Sampson - Currents

I'm confused by some of the advice in the article - there's an underlying ethos throughout that rings off to me. In my view, what is advocated in the article is impossible to achieve in advance of having technology available and being actively used. A few months ago Pamela wrote that Effective enterprise collaboration strategy needs everyone on the bus. Here's the reactions I'm having as I'm reading it through. Paragraph 2.
