In my last post I listed ten strategies for integrating learning with work. 10 STRATEGIES FOR INTEGRATING LEARNING AND WORK. However, from the perspective of integrating learning and work, social media is a technical platform (like none before it) for sharing, collaborating and communicating while work is being accomplished. I think the convergence is good for further integration of learning and working.

While most conferences aim for interesting presentations (not that this one doesn’t), what I value most from conferences are the networking and conversations I have with the people who turn up. Some project managers have sadly become less imaginative and creative as a result, preferring to stick to safe, tried and tested approaches to implementing their projects. Of course, beneath it, there was an undisclosed but integrated strategy.

It starts from being present as a blogger, finding and observing others; then possibly engaging in an interaction that might grow into a relation. When one’s back is protected, others can approach only frontally, making it easy to keep watch and to react, for example, by means of a forbidding facial expression in the event of undesired invasion of personal territory. Writing a weblog makes its author present in a blogosphere and visible to others. Integration

One of the principles of these BEtreats is that online and face-to-face participants should be fully integrated, so for the most part the online people are projected into the face-to-face room through video on Adobe Connect – where presentations can also be shared.
