Feedback on an In-house User Adoption Workshop

User adoption is a tricky beast. Naturally, clients tend to focus on the technical aspects that surround adoption: picking a solution that meets the list of user needs they have identified. While there is no universal set of truths about user adoption (it inevitably depends on your needs, goals, users, and other situational variables), there are some tricks that we’ve discovered along the way!

When you think about it, this means that any ‘platform’ should be doing more listening than publishing, aggregating and making sense of distributed activity, than telling people how to behave and forcing them to adopt set rules of behaviour in one walled garden. Defining Social Media

Collaborative Thinking

Social media enables public and transparent participation models where people and organizations interact as peers. Social media possesses low-barriers to expression, engagement, and contribution to promote exchanges, relationships, and sense of community among its participants. Social media strategies include practices that facilitate behavioral and cultural contexts necessary for social media to be adopted and leveraged by its participants.

Roles for Educators in MOOCs

Jenny Connected

It was recognised that MOOCs, with their massive numbers of learners have raised questions about who is the teacher in a MOOC, can anyone be a teacher, whose role is it to facilitate discourse, whose role is it to scaffold learning and so on. Are moderation and facilitation roles enough? A view was put forward that moderation is needed to monitor and manage abuse and facilitation is needed for orchestrating interactions, but what more does a MOOC educator need to do?
