If it's Friday, it must be Adobe Connect
JUNE 16, 2009
All of a sudden, the webcams, used principally for family connections for years, are workhorses (so to speak). Then on Friday, for another client who shall go nameless but whose name you know, another webcast, this time via Adobe Connect, topic = "Leading and Motivating Remote/Virtual Teams." All of the meetings we've had with Cisco of late have taken place in Webex, culminating in the extravaganza last Tuesday that combined Telepresence, Webex, and Cisco IPTV.

SEPTEMBER 18, 2006
Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today introduced the Adobe® Acrobat® Connect™ software product line, the first web conferencing and collaboration solution to offer “always-on” personal meeting rooms. Adobe might have to over-emphasize that point in the short-run.
The power of silent learners
MARCH 17, 2017
We were invited to log in half an hour early to check our connection. Changing the layout of the screen by dragging and dropping boxes was either not enabled or is not a feature of Adobe Connect. This week I attended a webinar which focussed on silent learners.
Emergent Learning and Learning Ecologies in Web 2.0
SEPTEMBER 30, 2011
The presentation will be in Adobe Connect, which I have used before, but it was still very useful to go through it all again. A couple of the things we found need thinking about in Adobe Connect are: 1. There is a time delay of about 2 seconds after clicking on the microphone tab to speak and actually being able to speak.
The 10 basic online tools every trainer and online facilitator should know
JANUARY 13, 2015
The better-known paid webinar tools are GoToMeeting, Webex and Adobe Connect. (photo by Kitty Terwolbeck ) There are lots of online tools that you can use for free or for very little money. Every week I try some new tools (like this week vialogues ) and honestly? Occasionally the high number of tools and possibilities make me restless. I have a tools list (both in a booklet and online in diigo) to try out and I never find the time or have the idea that I''ve tested enough tools.
Finding my voice in Academic BEtreat
AUGUST 2, 2012
There was just too much switching between Skype, Adobe Connect, video on/off, microphone on/off, open word documents, open PowerPoint presentations, open BEtreat wiki site, open blog posts, and email – to be able to write into a Word document at the same time.
Jane Hart’s Top Ten Tools for 2014
JULY 29, 2014
Blackboard Collaborate: This is not free for large numbers but it’s great for webinars, although Adobe Connect is also not bad these days. Facebook (I check what my friends/connections are doing, but find myself constantly asking why I am doing this. Icebreakers were originally about creating somatic awareness, listening and connection. The kinesthetic experience in the conference, where we were all disembodied, help us feel a connection. The connection to the purpose: that is the integrity of the design.
MAY 12, 2011
It is similar to Adobe Connect, but lacks some of the functionality of Elluminate. Next week (May 18th 2011) I will be working with a team, George Roberts, Rhona Sharpe, Joe Rosa (from Oxford Brookes University) and Andy Coverdale (University of Nottingham) to present a one day online course bearing the title – Benefits and challenges of communities of practice in HE. link].
Academic BEtreat – the technical challenges
JULY 30, 2012
One of the principles of these BEtreats is that online and face-to-face participants should be fully integrated, so for the most part the online people are projected into the face-to-face room through video on Adobe Connect – where presentations can also be shared. However, bandwidth issues make it difficult to use the audio connection in Adobe Connect, so we also connect via Skype – but this also keeps breaking up.
Five Tips to Support Multiple Organization Collaboration Online
Online Community Report
SEPTEMBER 20, 2010
Recently we’ve been using Adobe Connect , which we find to be capable, reasonably priced and non-intimidating for newbies. Organizations tackling difficult challenges (like Forum One’s many clients) frequently realize that the challenges are too big for any one organization to solve. Allies are required. But what is the best way to get separate organizations to collaborate online? Forum One has designed and managed networks of organizations over the years.
What a webinar can prove
JUNE 12, 2013
Joitske logged into Adobe Connect twice: once as host and once as participant — a technique to get at the technical facet of Social Proof. They ARE very connected, but there was some disagreement about just how much difference there is between the two. For me this exercise pointed to the connections between social settings and different means of communications.

In a way it’s a CPsquare dream that people should connect so much during a workshop that they would want to keep in touch afterward. So you need other people who share your language, are willing to explore the tool, and can connect (and re-connect when you fall off the call).

In a way it’s a CPsquare dream that people should connect so much during a workshop so that they would want to keep in touch like that afterward. In addition to the phone bridge connection, during the session several of us were also connected via a Skype group chat.

So Gil offered another option, Adobe Buzzword , an online word processer that is elegant and quite easy to use. Moreover, it works with Adobe Connect, so you can collaboratively edit and share documents in real-time. The Adobe site says “It looks and behaves like your normal desktop word processor, but it operates inside a web browser, so there's no installation required. It also exports to Adobe PDF and HTML.
