When I was eight years old I was sent to boarding school, a bit of a traumatic experience for any young child. One of the better memories of this four year experience was that each and every child in the school was given a small allotment plot in which we could grow whatever we wished.

We were all grieving for India, and I, at the age of eight, was packed off to boarding school. am before school, and also spending Christmas Days there. As Anil Mukerji said, good and bad has been done on both sides and now the UK and India are friends.

There is a lot of discussions about schools in our house recently. We went to a democratic school last week and a friend from Russia is there with detailed reports about its inside working. Robert and Alexander are doing rounds of open days in secondary schools around us (yes, all options are open, as it was from the beginning :)) Our homeschooling group is meeting tomorrow to discuss new format of meetings after things went out of order last year.
