The event was advertised as ‘reinventing education’, but for me (and I can’t find a recording of the webinar to check my perception and understanding), the discussion was more about how and what changes could be made to the existing education system (in this case the American education system).

They don’t focus solely on marketing/sales issues, but instead deal with a broad ranges of on and off topic issues. . . — Influencers are members of Influence Marketing programs, a form of marketing in which focus is placed on influential people rather than the target market as a whole. They have created an audience through their celebrity and are using that audience to push products they’re paid to push. . Definitions are important. Language matters. .

“But what if our people dominate?”

The request is usually to design an event where we can hear from people without them being dominated by more powerful voices. My response to this over the years has been to push back hard against that idea, despite how noble it seems. Inviting a group into these practices helps them focus on each other as as potential experts.
