When commenting began, discussion started to remain in a limited number of places but it was all open in the public and available to anyone. Comment spam really killed open discussion and maintain spam free comments sections is time-consuming.

Three musketeers, time and knowledge gaps

And the difference between merci beaucoup in the song and merci bien that they knew, together with some comments about reading French and the difference in dealing with foreign words in Russian and Dutch subtitles. I wanted to share with the kids D’Artagnan and Three Musketeers movie of my childhood, an iconic musical of its time. So we set into it, spreading three series over three evenings. And then, as usual, it became watching a movie turned into a learning experience.

I was trying to write some end-of-the-year posts, but everything that I’d like to summarise changes very fast.
