How is learning organized in a self-managed organization?

Joitske Hulsebosch

Training programs and workshops are often provided by colleagues. Every month I read a management book. I am very curious about learning in self-managing organizations. How is this organized? Is self-management also self-directed learning? In April, therefore, I have read the much talked-about book by Frederic Laloux about new ways of organizing ( reinventing organizations ).

November in review: transitions

Mathemagenic

I followed a workshop in Moscow on it and continue to do it online. November turned to be a strange month. I went to Moscow for a week, without the kids and, for a first time in many years, without a real to do list. It was good to recharge, reconnect and reconsider. It was two years since my mother passed away. It is good to feel that transition period of mourning and sorting out all the practical implications is over.

It’s a simple way to dive into these practices, acknowledge that there are lots of ways to come into an Art of Hosting workshop, and build on the strengths that people have. The Art of Hosting is predicated on a very simple set of practices which we call the Four Fold Practice.

In the wind of change

Mathemagenic

That has implications for our daily practice with the kids and also for the things that I do with or for the others (intervision and Wowlab workshops). Lots of unfinished and half-started posts make it more difficult to start writing again. I feel as I should did something about the backlog first, but new things are coming up and waiting becomes less and less of an option. So, I’ll write. And at some point I finish whatever has been started and post it backdated, who cares. Anyway.
