These notes cover the Monday individual press session, Mobile, Bring Your Own Device, with Rob Ingram, Senior Manager, Mobile Communication Strategy, IBM. Rob said there are three parts to IBM’s mobile strategy: collaboration for end users, mobile apps for consumer Web sites, and security and device management including such issues as VoIP.  IBM now has a “bring your own device” mobile policy.

Iphone 4s: constant loss of mobile signal problem

Since upgrading, a month ago, the iphone 4s has been losing the mobile signal about 10 times per day for periods of up to one hour. I have spoken a number of times with Orange second line technical support who assure me that it is not a mobile network issue. The mobile signal on the iphone 4s sometimes says "No Service" or sometimes shows 1-2 bars - either way when it happens you cannot take/make any incoming or out coming calls or texts. Mobile Devices

Microsoft is hosting the SharePoint Conference 2012 this week in Las Vegas. Colligo announced the availability of Colligo Briefcase, its mobile app for access to SharePoint, on Android, Mac OS X, and Apple iOS devices. ROI on Mobile Apps. Colligo also announced the results of a research study on the ROI of using mobile apps/software so employees can access SharePoint. There's about 10,000 people there—which makes for a huge event.
