Technology: RSS, tagging and back to work!

Joitske Hulsebosch

Beth Kanter calls for nonprofit tagvocates (she writes tagovates, but yeah, I think I can read her mind), to use tagging for social change, not just for personal information management. What's very clear is that it's really hard to explain/imagine/dream up for people who have not experienced social bookmarking and/or RSS at work.

Online Social Networking

In this article I look at four kinds of social media SPAM , or anti-social media marketing as I sometimes call it. I also share several ideas for coping with social media SPAM. SPAM Messages - These are the unsolicited commercial messages sent to your Facebook inbox, appearing in your Twitter replies, or plaguing you on other social networking sites. In February 2006, another engineer posted a message to the group, advising that the new software standard had been formally adopted. This form of collaboration is driven by the advent of social media (tools that help us connect and interact online), ubiquitous internet connectivity and the ability to connect with diverse individuals across distance and time. This benefits their team, and possibly their related communities of practice if they are also sharing bookmarks.
