Social gaming is a hot topic here at SXSW. How are social games different to what’s gone before?
SdH: Rather than an immersive story-telling experience designed for gamers it’s a social experience designed for non-gamers.
ET: Story’s have endings so are not as scalable or well suited to social gaming platforms.

After I came back last Friday from a couple of recent business trips to both Madrid and Barcelona to speak at the Lotusphere Comes To You events, and while still recovering, slowly, from a nasty cold I caught on the plane back home, I’m starting to get ready for my next business trip; taking place next week Wednesday and heading to London for Thursday’s SOMESSO / Headshift Social Business Summit . But, hang on, before I dive further into what I will be doing at the Social Business Summit, just wanted to let folks know that I’m already on the process of putting together

The Economist on social networking - world of connections
This week, The Economist, every Capatilist’s favourite magazine, has published a special report on on social networking .

It is a corporate sponsored social network site that is voluntary, open-source, operates outside of the corporate firewall and is moderated by its users. One of the examples of internal communications programs I’ve cited in presentations and previous posts is the Best Buy Blue Shirt Nation - an internal social network for employees of the electronics super store. Since I’m not a Best Buy employee, I’ve Two videos, very informative...

Social Ripple Social Marketing
The main thing for me was to chat with Affiliate marketers about how social networks pass information around. You don’t need a big social network yourself. They are primarily one-to-many channel (blogger sets theme, tone and subject) and the social network sees the “finished While you are reading the presentation outline below I’d like you to think about the Twitter change today. Today Twitter turned off “see replies to those I’m not following”.

New from HP's Social Computing Lab comes news of Friendlee, an entirely new kind of social network that focuses on the intimate connections between close friends, family, and colleagues. The application, designed to operate on your mobile phone, tracks your call and messaging history to provide an ambient awareness of who your "real" friends are and then adds those people to your social network. Not only that, but Friendlee also tracks the businesses you call frequently to identify your preferred services which can then be used as recommendations to your network of friends.

As organizations explore the use of social networking, the enterprise is no longer the only participant in managing identity. An employee’s social network site profile, social graph, and use of other social tools and applications enable them to construct additional identity facets to suit their own needs. As a result, organizations should incorporate “social identity” claims within identity management practices.

One of the interesting outcomes from my contextual research project on enterprise social networking was not only what was said by study participants but what was "not said".
