in Messaging News (July 2009). I want to see much tighter cross-product calendaring integration within the IBM Lotus suite of products, especially Notes and Quickr, with follow-through to BlackBerry, iPhone and Android .

Capabilities from Project Vulcan will be integrated into future editions of products, eg, LotusLive, Notes and Domino, Connections, Quickr, and WebSphere Portal.
- The next version of LotusLive Notes will provide email, calendar, contact management and instant messaging capabilities to customers in a multi-tenant environment. New services and options will include a reduction in the minimum number of users for Day 1 of IBM annual Lotusphere conference was today, in Orlando. The November 2009 edition of Messaging News Magazine is out, with my article entitled Archiving and eDiscovery for Collaboration Systems (starting on page 14):
" Archiving and eDiscovery for email are a well-understood, even if not so well-practiced set of requirements; but compared to the current status of archiving and eDiscovery for collaboration systems, it’s the gold standard. There are also examples from courts where email evidence has been critical, and given the back-and-forth conversational and interactional nature of email, archiving email messages is not hard.

It started with the "Dual Highway" message...
Again, there's no need to recount the very heavy process management message around Workplace that may have sounded great to senior leadership teams (and probably was great for IBM consulting). Quickr remains the one product that still seems to be a work-in-progress (perhaps it will be ready to be positioned as "the SharePoint alternative" and ready for prime time in 2010).
This year's Lotusphere could very well be a make-or-break moment for the Lotus brand and solution portfolio. I
