So celebrity gossip is big business - magazine and newspaper editors and paparazzi photographers both know that they can make money by showing part of a celebrity’s private life. For the same reasons celebrity gossip in newspapers and magazines is so popular, gossip that is started and spread by the celebrity themselves is also interesting. Are the Obamas Bad for the Paparazzi Economy? Celebrity gossip is big business. That photo of a singer leaving a nightclub looking like they’ve had one drink too many.

Last week’s Time had an article on how President Obama is using the science of change to transform the country. Specifically, President Obama and his economic team are relying on findings in behavioral economics to make people break old habits and adopt behaviors that are better for them and society.
remember a Wired Magazine article in which the author talks about a manager at Southern California Edison who provided ambient orbs to about 100 Unlike traditional economics which assumes that human rationality, self-interest, and freedom of choice end up creating an efficient market, behavioral economics does not make this assumption.

Gil gave a good example from a session I missed, Jascha Franklin-Hodge, Chief Technology Officer & Founding Partner of Blue State Digital who spoke about the lessons we can learn from the Obama campaign. Gil wanted to hear more enterprise related issues such as the “culture change” process that the Obama campaign had to accept internally as it shifted into a new strategy. I greatly enjoyed this years Enterprise 2.0 conference in Boston.
