will be speaking at two different time slots around the topic of Social Enterprise (One of my favourite topics as of late ) and the really cool thing is that in both cases I will be sharing the stage with a couple of very talented fellow IBM colleagues: Rafael Gallegos (Lotus Software Sales Manager SPGI) and Ed Brill (Director, Product Management IBM Lotus). and a couple of use cases / success stories of how IBM customers have been making use of Lotus Collaboration technologies all along. Yes, indeed, it is that time of the year where very soon I will be on the road again for my second and third business trips of the year and already working towards finalising the last few details, before I embark on the not-to-be-missed and always interesting Lotusphere Comes To You events.

Ed Brill from IBM Lotus has posted his reaction to my Lotus Roadmap report (January 2010): " Michael Sampson looks to me like he can see the future. Though he was never briefed on what was coming at Lotusphere 2010, in January, he published a white paper on the Lotus roadmap. This is an excellent report and should offer much confidence for anyone considering their future direction with Lotus software, An update with some of the IBM Project Vulcan news from Lotusphere is all that one would need to add to this paper for a high degree of understanding of the future.
One of the final projects I worked on during December 2009 was a report called "Lotus Roadmap: Enhancing Business Collaboration with Lotus Software". Lotus Notes has been around for a long time. Since its release in 1989 it has always been viewed as a “different” piece of technology, loved by some people and reviled by others. I almost got it completed, but ran out of runway.
