In a remarkable way the rise of computer literacy in the early part of the 21st century in Iran is comparable to the rise of newspapers and magazines early in the 19th century, when one of the first groups of Iranian students that were sent to Europe brought with them the first printing machine and with it founded the first periodicals, whereby expanding the spectrum of the public domain, of the collective consciousness of a society on the verge of monumental changes. The makers of the bestselling Nintendo package may believe Shakespeare to be an “iconic author” of “must-read novels” but in describing him as such they betray some of the side-effects of their product – it treats all writing as if it were simply text, content, something else to scroll on a screen to suit your mood.

Just in time.”
With the launch of this web site, it leads me to wonder just how much TIME Magazine knows about the tech news community.

Word Magazine UK created a project where iconic album cover photographs are mapped via Google Maps. Goollery is an online gallery of Google-related projects from people around the world. There are a number of categories: Google Brand, Search, Maps, Earth, Image Search Chrome, SketchUp, Translate, Android, and YouTube. Within each category there is a variety of projects.
