But it’s generated a fascinating open conversation about a big problem: what do advertising agencies need to do about digital, or interactive, or whatever it’s called? The problem is both bewildering and widespread enough to have convened an itinerant community of interested people from competing agencies in discussion. As we work increasingly closely with advertising folk I thought it This post has been brewing inside of me for some time. I’m currently working for an enlightened public sector client in London who wants to help local people use social technology to help maintain and extend improvements to their neighbourhood made in recent years. It’s just the sort of thing that Will Perrin is promoting through Talk About Local - to be based in Birmingham - and Gary Copitch through People Voice’s Media , currently in the North West.

What’s the big deal about WordPress ?
Darren Rouse, the author of 31 Days to Build a Better Blog , shares in a video his blog-centric approach to web marketing in which social media sites (which aren’t under our complete control) serve as outposts for our blogs and web sites (which we do control).
For further discussion about the control issue and the trade-offs, read How to Start a Blog Made Easy and Creating a Home for Your Blog .
In Website vs. Web Presence , I emphasize the role of social media in web marketing.

few people have raised the objection that what Mash the State is currently doing with council RSS feeds is really just helping councils to deliver their PR (or as those critics often like put it, “propaganda”).
You’d have to be pretty naive to think otherwise.
Here’s how to build a discussion blog around your local council’s news. Adrian Short posted this on the Mash the State blog :
