We ( Gary Hayes from LAMP and I) structured Thursday for speakers to 50 people on their social media marketing campaigns. On Friday, I ran a one-day hands-on computer course on how to do a social media marketing campaign. started with explaining the structure of connecting to social networks and then pointed out that campaigns are just one – but crucial – feature of engaging with online communities. This is for a presentation I gave as a seminar on Thursday. Both days were run through the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) LAMP program.

Again this week, Twitter has been high on the media agenda. As is always the case during a time of innovation, brands are experimenting with lots of different ways of using Twitter. Time will tell which are the most appropriate and which have the highest return on investment, but it is worth all brands learning the basics of Twitter usage for marketing purposes and in particular for PR.
Some successfully and some less so. That’s why Required Reading this week at FreshNetworks is Conner Weisgerber ’s presentation on Twitter for PR.

Ever wondered how to search the Bio fields for someone in Twitter? How to search Twitter profiles? think there are some directories, but first, people have to know about them, and two, register.

And the fact that the most important thing for any business is to have a policy in the first place. At FreshNetworks , our approach is to keep things simple and to make them inclusive. We conducted a week-long experiment with Twitter , for 12 people who were not yet familiar with the tool. I'll also share my own ideas about Twitter in more detail. Twitter is: A global community of friends and strangers answering one simple question: What are you doing? Our In this blogpost, we'll describe the experiment, and we'll summarize the reflections and new ideas for applicability of the tool. Which often brings questions on how to do so.
The ecosystem is all about connections – between people and online bits (if you are academically-inclined you might be interested to read Blogging Practices: An Analytical Framework , at least in the part that discusses relations). To make those connections two things are important: what tools do you use and what do you do with them.
When I talk about blogging I often tell that it’s individual, but most of the good things that come out of it are the result of being part of a blogging ecosystem. To get an

I used to think Twitter was stupid. Twitter is a "micro-blogging" platform that allows you to quickly post short messages[tweets] of I see "What are you doing?" I am at the corner of X and Y waiting to meet my friend Z" ... "I reading the morning paper with a perfect cup of coffee". This is info you may want After one week of actual activity, I find it useful. as the wrong question — it focuses too much on daily minutiae, and not on what others may find interesting about you.
