Google! But there are already plugins that let you tweet alongside content so I’m not sure how that will work differently. Twitter just announced @anywhere platform – notice who is missing? Dunno why, Bing is there, but there must be a war forming between Twits vs Googlers. Anyway here’s my thoughts, right after the Twitter blog/press release :

Comparing the Notes architecture back then (all of which is still in the product, even now) with what Google is laboriously developing, as if there were no prior art, is pretty illuminating: Notes does smart replication between servers and clients, works offline or in low-bandwidth connections admirably well, secures the inter-machine traffic with robust levels of encryption, doesn’t have to sit on top of protocols used for other things, stamps messages with irrefutable digital identities so you can verify who the sender really is. Confluence combines powerful online authoring capabilities,

I'm happy to announce that Google Friend Connect features are now also available for Drupal and Joomla . Even site owners without programming experience can add these plugins.
Both Drupal and Joomla integrations include the latest Google Friend Connect features, like Interest Polls, AdSense, Newsletter Subscriptions, Featured Content, and well-known gadgets such as Members, Comments, Recommendations, Activities, Reviews and the Social Bar. Helpful for social platforms based on Drupal - would like to see relevant features of Friend Connect supported within Apache SocialSite (still hopefull that this effort gains more attention and traction).

Choosing Plugins for WordPress
The best way to choose plugins is through word of mouth recommendation. What’s the big deal about WordPress ?

OSDE is a new Eclipse plugin that lets you develop either OpenSocial JavaScript (gadget) client applications or OpenSocial Java client applications using OpenSocial 0.8's Posted by Chris Schalk, Google Developer Advocate
should be able to get Google Gadgets working via Shindig, but OpenSocial Gadgets will take a lot more thought and effort.
If you are looking into OpenSocial, some great resources below. If you are examining Apache Shindig, then you will also be very interested in Project SocialSite which leverages that effort and extends it in some very interesting

Some functionality for some (uncooperative) sites will require a browser plugin, but most wont. ¶ While a browser add-on most likely will be used to facilitate friending/defriending and data acquisition on the users behalf for certain uncooperative sites, their browser must never be used (thus their IP address and user-agent string) to gather and report data that isnt theirs. join the Google Group . And given Cisco’s own performance through dot.com bubble and into the current slide, his message has rather more resonance - file next to Google? Antony Mayfield says: J March 2009 at 1:19 pm You’re very welcome, Mr P… I think this example is hugely interesting both at a macro-level and the personal struggle to change the management habits of a lifetime that Mr Chambers has evidently come through. Filed very much next to Google. Neil Ward-Dutton says: J March 2009 at 8:40 pm

guess this would be like member-based hashtag pages.
Use Google Reader from within Outlook - replace the Outlook RSS feeds folder with Google Reader. This comment suggests you can do the same thing in Outlook 2003.
Google Reader offline - RSS Bandit and Scoop . They offer a widget to integrate into your blog, but if you want to go even further try a service called iBegin which is a plugin Buzzable - a neat interactive newsmastering tool, perhaps similar to a Friendfeed Room .
Create Create a topic page and invite people to your group (public or private).

I cannot wait for the new Buddy Press plugins are released. As such, the new Buddy Press plugins will enable users to communicate within any blog that they find interesting. Check out more about the new plugins at the Buddy Press website . Or perhaps one of the comment infrastructure plugins, or even FB Connect(?). « Will All Media Companies Launch Ad Networks?
