Also, while doingText looks nice, I wonder if more people won’t opt to just go with Google since they are a known brand.

It was quickly snatched up by Google and is now the “Docs” part of Google Docs & Spreadsheet . doc format, it has lost its ability to be edited by the team. Plus, a web worker may receive one file from Google Docs & Spreadsheets, another from Coventi or Zoho. Use a Collaborative Web Editor - Web services like Google Documents and Zoho Writer have document sharing built right in. Google Documents does maintain a revision history, so you can always go back and see who typed what. 2. Eg google’s rankings based on popularity and relevance and Del.icio.us being a step up from google as it is an extended social network of people saying this information is “good”? For example Google Docs is awesome as a collaboration tool, but when I am on a plane I can’t access my docs, so do i need an offline version. Id expect to see more of these sites popping up in the future, although with Google Docs , Thinkfree , and Zoho at work on online replacements for our office apps, were likely to see file migration moving further and further away from the hard drive.
