The move was widely read as the first thrust in what will prove to be a sustained assault on Google itself – one which Team Jobs will only abandon if Google makes an unlikely retreat from what Apple clearly perceives as its core business: mobile device technology. E-commerce is still growing, both in the UK and across the water: predictions for the British market are for 10% compound growth over the next five years, with a remarkably similar figure of 11% suggested by Forrester in the US. Forrester’s Alex Cullen recently released, The Top 15 Technology Trends EA Should Watch and they were nice to share with me. The summary states, “Forrester has identified 15 technologies with the greatest potential for business impact, and we’ve grouped these technologies into five themes: social computing for enterprises, process-centric information, restructured IT service platforms, Agile applications, and mobile as the new desktop.
I I am most interested in social computing for enterprises.

The Q3 2009 Forrester Wave™: Collaboration Platforms by Rob Koplowitz is out. MindTouch, the only open source option in this Forrester Wave, landed as a Strong Performer. Central Desktop adds MS Outlook Integration to its SaaS Social Technology Platform and Central Desktop Moves Up with Enterprise Edition
It found that “Microsoft and IBM Lotus led the pack based on the breadth of functionality in their offerings. Novell edged into the Leaders’ quadrant with its Teaming product.

It’s a fact that Forrester has managed to establish some sort of dominance in the analysis of social media trends and technologies. The piece de résistance was Forrester’s Jonathan Browne talking about the evolution of online experiences. To make it work in anything other than a single product, software dev context you need ‘agile’ thinking and adaptive approaches to everything the agency does – technology, production, strategy and planning, creativity, management, measurement and even contracts
