USAA , a financial services company that has always been tops in customer service , is now demonstrating leadership in social media. One of USAA’s first fore’s in social media was the launch of Bazaarvoice Ratings and Reviews product on USAA.com. Last week I caught up with Tom Vaughn, Director of Social Media at USAA to get his perspective. Disclosure: I am a USAA member (customer).
In the short video, Tom shares what he has learned one year later with rating and reviews, plus advice for other companies embarking on similar path.

Gracias a iniciativas como la de “ Tribalization of business ”, a la capacidad de venta de Seth Godin con sus tribus , o al aparato de Forrester detrás de “ Groundswell ”, las organizaciones han empezado a ver que hay algo llamado comunidades, y que tienen utilidad para el negocio. gracias a las redes sociales, el concepto de moda esta temporada, el público también está atento. ReadWriteWeb touched off a small firestorm of reaction around a report published by Forrester regarding "sponsored conversations". Extending the concept of "sponsorship" to social media is clearly going to have its ups-and-downs as everyone learns out in the open. After reading through the article, the comments, and some postings from Jeremish Owyang (Forrester), the following segmentation came to mind. Here is another study on the growing use of social media in marketing. In a survey, Social Media Marketing Industry Report , by Michael Stelzner with almost 700 responses an overwhelming majority (88%) of marketers say they are using some form of social media to market their business, though 72% of those using it say they have only been at it a few months or less. Forrester recently released a report on What’s Holding Back Your Intranet? They found that 93% of employee respondents said they use an intranet or company portal (Forrester uses the terms interchangeably) at least weekly, and more than half reported daily use. In fact, Forrester reports, “Most enterprises at least try to offer usable online experiences to their prospects and customers — but continue to inflict user-hostile internal systems upon their employees.” by Tim Waters with Matthew Brown and Sara Burnes.
