server technology (Opera Unite, Firefox POW, etc) as a breakthrough technology, so people can put their own data into the cloud without paying Flickr or whomever. Anyway, here’s a summary:
- cloud services as offered today (including Gmail, Google Wave/buzz, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube…) are bad (engineering-wise) and the opposite of P2P/empowerment/democracy… because they (re)introduce and make even look trendy and cool centralized points of technical failure and political/economical control. Netsukuku is a p2p based new routing protocol that could - for the purpose of linking users’ computers in a p2p cloud - replace the IP numbers-based addressing and routing that is the system currently in use to link servers to users in the internet.

What makes this site particularly interesting, though, is its use of Twitter, Facebook and Flickr as a way of generating content for the site and promoting participation.
They can contribute images by tagging their Flickr contributions with the same tag. LEGO is a brand that many people are very passionate about, a brand people love and we’ve written before about how they use segmentation to engage their consumer base from children to enthusiasts in an innovative way. Now they have continued their innovative approaches

common debate among those working in marketing and social media is between engaging people on your own domain - in an online community that you build and manage yourself - and engaging people where they are - out in social networks like Facebook and MySpace or on YouTube, external blogs or forums.
If you find somebody posting videos about your product in YouTube then this is a sign that they care about you, your product and what they do. A There is, of course, a place for both of these things - engaging people in social networks

Why do you suddenly feel like making movies when you’re on Vimeo , while you just feel daunted at the task when you’re over at YouTube ? Why do I feel so alone on a travel site like Dopplr , while I’m constantly meeting people all over the world at a photo site like Flickr ?
ve stuck some of my photography from Flickr on there. If you’re going to have any success building healthy, active and engaging social communities online, you’ve got to be endlessly curious about how they work. Why is it that some communities gain new users every day while some dry up

Use it to engage people in Twitter just as you might engage people in Facebook, YouTube, Flickr and other social networks and online communities. YouTub This week I was asked to talk to the Marketing Directors Network in London about how organisations are using Twitter. We’ve written before about how celebrities are using Twitter and how organisations are using Twitter as an engagement tool .

The survey highlights the ways in which these firms are using social media and is also insightful in terms of the tools and platforms (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube or a corporate blog) they are using. Facebook and YouTube are next (54% and 50% respectively) with corporate blogs the least used (just 33% of firms surveyed)

YouTub Thomson is a well-known package tour and holiday brand in the UK and part of the global travel group TUI . They have a good reputation and brand in the UK, supported by a relatively strong High Street presence. But one traveller’s bad experience on a holiday to Tunisia has caused them and their brand problems in social media, and in their search rankings.

The ‘other pages’ include Flickr , YouTube and Facebook iterations and the only ‘official’ Skittles real-estate is a floating control panel - a bit like that Modernista website everyone wishes they’d done, but probably don’t visit very often.
