Certainly, when you consider the screen from a developer’s perspective a list of different functional elements is probably quite logical.
ve yet to meet a developer who would choose to build a screen from a wireframe over a Photoshop document, regardless of how many helpful and important details the wireframes may contain. As more projects are developed using agile methodologies , where the working software is the spec rather than a I have a love hate relationship with wireframes. In the last 10 years they’ve been a part of every web project I’ve worked on.

It seems overly simplistic to claim that everything will be okay if they hire in some digital savvy, perhaps even ‘developers’ – let them attend client meetings and, you know, even help out with creative ideas and stuff.
What they should have been taking away all of this time — and have increasingly begun to — are the concepts of the constant beta and agile development. Another week, another blog post on the subject of “why creative advertising folk need to embrace ‘technologists and their geeky ways’” once again ignites vigorous debate.

Professor de Haan praises the candidate for the original way of developing this thesis. Tags: PhD proces This is something I wanted to blog for a while, but – hey – it’s better late than never :)
I did my PhD in Utrecht University , which is old (founded in 1636) and quite traditional.

Lesson painfully learned: you can *only* do this stuff successfully by involving technical people fully in the creative process. Yes, change, *during* the course of development. don’t think I’d like to work quite that fast again but it shows what you can do with a tiny team of specialists following a process they totally own with a very clear idea of what they were trying to achieve (and permission to fly under the radar). This post has been brewing inside of me for some time. It’s has finally been burped-up precipitated by Ben Malbon’s provocative post at BBH

This example demonstrates how value network modeling can bring fresh insights into even long established organizational structures and processes. Previously they had modeled this work as a business process but “exceptions” were causing costly delays in responding to trouble tickets. The temptation was to simply map the “official” repair service process. A detailed example of an internal value network for technical repair This blog is adapted from the paper, “Value Creating Networks: Organizational Issues and Challenges,” being published in November by Emerald in The Learning Organization Special Issue on Social Networks and Social Networking .

Rather than simply showing you the great work that one of our Senior Designers, Julia, has created, I thought it might be useful to show the process behind the project…
The process of breaking down the site, freely annotating and then rearranging and grouping components together is invaluable.
We can then get feedback from the client and continue to develop the page in an iterative way. We’ve been working with LOVEFiLM for some time now. They’re a very exciting client whose business model is built around the internet.

I've written about a pretty basic process and framework a few times over the years, and I think the baseline concepts have held up well. How to Develop a Community Strategy
The topics, which generally follow my strategy development process, will be:
1. The topic of online community strategy is one of the things that occupies a large chunk of my mental cycles. You can read a couple of relatively recent posts here (I'd love to hear your thoughts):
