In the second of this three-part series on Listening in Social Media, here is some of the best advice I found on how to listen: setting up your listening, analysing the conversation types, and what do with what you’ve heard. Quoting Tania Yuki in her post on comscore.com : Listen to the good. Respond quickly to the bad, and respond even Enable the conversation, rather than attempting to put it in a chokehold. People are talking about your brand anyway, so you may as well get down in the weeds and know what’s going on. How should you listen? Beth Kanter

Our experiences with Moodle in a learning trajectory on Capacity Development In the past six months we (PSO) experimented with Moodle, an online learning- and working environment we used in an action learning trajectory on ‘The how and what of capacity development’. And it seems worthwhile to share some of our first experiences with you in this blog. Mainly because we find it wasn’t very easy to integrate an online platform in the broader learning process. How to design an environment in which new users can find their way?

I developed a 12-step vlogging process to help a network in Ghana ( GINKS ) produce an ICT4D stories blog. They were amazed that it is so easy to do, easier than maintaining a website for instance. We are still figuring out how to link the blog to the website as a page of the website. We did two videos in the office together for fun, then did two video interviews jointly. The last two videos were published on their own.

In addition to having participated in a several hundred RFPs, we have also helped many clients write RFPs and have also produced RFP guidelines for several large organizations.
RFPs, As a firm we spend up to $5,000 in time and expense for a full RFP process. RFPs, if conducted well, are useful in identifying vendors with appropriate skills and are (somewhat) useful

I've been to events where everyone is twittering, tagging and hopping around with their laptops. I've also been to events where nobody even knows what tagging is. I was asked by Partos , the branche association for development organisations in the Netherlands to think with them how social media can support their yearly event, Partos Plaza for roughly 100 participants. In most events, you will find a mix of people. The event will take place next tuesday so we don't have any evaluation data yet, but I can share our design and some first observations about the process.
