I’m going to gradually, as time permits, migrate all my courseware across to the new format, offer it for free download under Creative Commons for download (lulu or scribd ), or physical colour workbooks via publish on demand Lulu ( [link] ) . WARNING: I’ve ordered the new format printed workbook from Lulu but I need to check formatting, make sure fonts etc haven’t gone mad. Courseware for Social Media Workshops

I feel compelled to add a disclaimer: Long-winded philosophical rant ahead! This suggests I should look into consulting! Oh wait--I already am a consultant. A smart person pointed out to me recently what I think is one of the core truths of good consulting: That a consultant is not the same thing as an enthusiast. I have a long flight tonight--I'm giving myself permission.

Not to mention a new version of iMovie with some cool effects. So here’s an introduction to some of our most important lessons learned over the years in how to approach a KM strategy exercise with some chance of it moving off the page of the consultant’s report and into some form of reality. I hesitate to write an article about choosing a social media consultant because of concerns about bias and my obvious conflict of interests.
After writing Social Media Carpetbaggers and Snake Oil Salesmen , readers remarked that they had heard enough about the kinds of social media consultants to avoid and were ready to learn how to choose a good social media consultant.
The ten guidelines I present below are best practices for choosing and hiring social media consultants but can be adapted for choosing an SEO consultant, an Internet marketing consultant, or another type of business consultant.
