To complicate the Event further, it is connected to a rather reductive schema as to *where* such a break can take place. This is true of most of the theories which have come out of Lacanian analysis, because the constitutivity of lack and alienation in such a framework preclude affirmative change - the idea of an autonomous, self-replicating network for instance is dismissed in such a frame as an illusion, denying the necessity of the ‘properly political’ moment of mastery, authoritarianism and so on. An introduction by Andy Robinson:

We often instinctively see shape in three-dimensional terms - which is not always helpful when thinking of the Internet - which is essentially a ‘network of networks’ running on on-top a physical network of wires, phone lines and wifi bubbles. So how do we describe networks? The There is an interesting discussion going on about how the flow of data moving around the internet gives it a ’shape’ and what that shape means. You can see this discussion written up in an interesting article in the New York Times; ‘ Scientists Strive to Map

Now that we are a couple of months into the “signal sharing” of the Communities and Networks Connection , I wanted to share the top posts people have clicked into on the site (courtesy of the magic of Tony Karrer ). Twitter: Measuring clickthrus Social Media Metrics - Laurel Papworth- Social Network Strategy , March 16, 2009
I find that sometimes I am paying attention to the site, and other times it is off my radar. But when I look at the top hit list below, I recognize many of the posts as ones I have read, so for me, personally, there is resonance with

In a past post I elaborated on social networks like Twitter as being a Help engine; an alternative to a search engine in some cases in finding answers and making decisions.
by connecting you to a social network of people you trust who will be willing to help out in a reciprocal relationship
(which which also helps out in the re-contextualising process as you share a common wavelength or I also paralleled this concept to the aims of KM, productivity, performance, sense-making, decision-making, etc:
“I think it’s getting us closer to the KM productivity (sense-making) aim that knowledge sharing and knowledge transfer has always aspired to, which is:

Communities and Networks Connection
Nancy White and Tony Karrer have teamed up to create a brilliant blog aggregation site called, Communities and Networks Connection .
This is not a community (it’s not a group space where we have an agenda)…and it’s not a network as the sources or readers don’t connect with others or have their own view of the network. If like me you are absorbed with the web, as a result of participating, you would have built up a great deal of sources that are your filter on many topics.

Some time back, I wrote a very frustrated post on how experts from the field of psychology make sweeping generalizations of what it means to use online services like twitter, facebook and other social networking sites.
John Cacioppo’s presentation “Connected Minds: Loneliness, Social Brains and the Need for Community” , hosted by the RSA .
“An As someone who once pursued an academic career, I found it shocking to see how careless these claims where – random ‘opinions’ completely unsupported by any evidence, but yesterday, my faith in the academic field was restored when “28″ (our nickname for Anjali) and I went to see Prof.

The main thing for me was to chat with Affiliate marketers about how social networks pass information around. You don’t need a big social network yourself. They are primarily one-to-many channel (blogger sets theme, tone and subject) and the social network sees the “finished product” - and can leave questions/comments/reviews. While you are reading the presentation outline below I’d like you to think about the Twitter change today. Today Twitter turned off “see replies to those I’m not following”.
