Conceive, develop, test, implement and distribute components of a new operating system for the city, which improves the processes of communication, participation and consumption under open, efficient and sustainable parameters. At the moment thanks to ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) as well new models to citizen organisation it is possible to carry out strategies of compilation and access to data of all typse, to help urban mobility, to interact with the administration, to foment the local and responsible consumption, to save energy and work on many other areas wher distributed,

Keep communication open and frequent, and if expectations are unclear on either side, sort it out as early as possible. One of the SXSW sessions I went to yesterday dealt with the problems that arise when folks you work with are tricky, incompetent or just a bit of a pain in the backside. Whether it’s partners, clients or colleagues, at some point difficult situations inevitably arise and people don’t always play nice.

UC gets unified The term "unified communications" has long been muddled and miss-used, and the problem is made worse by vendors who slap a "unified" label on products that are anything but. Analysts and associations will begin to hold vendors accountable for delivering true unified communications, which includes--at a minimum--a single identity with presence at the core, a single inbox, unified management, developer tools, and a unified user experience across voice, conferencing, instant messaging, and email.
I thought I would offer some comments on some UC predictions offered by Gurdeep Singh Pall, who heads Microsoft's UC group:

One of the first things we have observed was a heavy focus on goal-oriented communication between people in different locations: they would talk (this includes ‘type’ :) about solving particular problems around work, but hardly anything else. drew a picture to explain what happens in this case that others found useful and quickly nicknamed “the egg” – so, here it is.
You can look at communication in a team across two axes. As promised – more thinking from our project looking at the challenges in distributed Agile teams . I

Tags: Communicatio At Forum One we have thought a lot about RFP processes through the years. In addition to having participated in a several hundred RFPs, we have also helped many clients write RFPs and have also produced RFP guidelines for several large organizations.
RFPs, RFPs, if conducted well, are useful in identifying vendors with appropriate skills and are (somewhat) useful in guaranteeing reasonable price and quality.

Time for a prediction: layered communications - a mixing of text, speech and video - will become a key issue for online communities in 2010 and beyond.
Two things this week got me thinking about the place for layered communications in online communities and social networks.
Both of these look at the benefits of mixing a number of forms of communication. 1. Seth Godin’s post: Reinventing the Conference Call in which he suggested “[voice] conference calls should be accompanied by an online chat room”

There are fabulous images out there, waiting to help us communicate better and add beauty to the world, so go out and get them, and thanks to all the photographers who are sharing their images with license forms that allow us to use them. While I came with the communication egg model to talk about things missing in distributed teams I feel that it could be useful in more contexts. At this point it makes sense to go and read Shrunken communication in distributed teams (the egg of communication :) ]
One of the things I came up when playing with different ideas was to position teams, communities and networks in respect to the most prevalent forms of communication In particularly to talk about the differences between different types of social constructions in the knowledge management context.

Paul argues that every act of communication is also an act of coordination. In order to communicate, both agents involved have to agree on the way communication works, which language is being used. But how do you agree without communication? Communication seems to be interrelated This above question I asked myself after reading two very inspiring pieces of work. The first is the PhD.

If you want to consider micro-blogging as a messaging system then I'm fine with that - but Twitter-like applications are going to be defined as a type of communication system (which will trigger all sorts of other issues related to logging, audit, compliance, e-discovery, etc).
If these messages are sent/received by people already under communication policies that have their messages logged for audit/compliance reasons then Twitter-like systems absolutely will have to support similar capabilities. Some good points in this post from Adina Levin (Socialtext). For the most part

After the acquisition was completed, Microsoft has kept quiet on exactly how it would adapt Parlano's technology and deliver it as part of Office Communications Server (OCS). I've been studying the intersection of real-time collaboration and unified communications with social computing (specifically: social networking, social messaging, and activity streams). If you are currently an OCS client and have In August, 2007 Microsoft announced its intent to acquire Parlano. Parlano's leading product, MindAllign, delivered "persistent group chat".
