Well - my last post about whether or not I can be truthful when blogging (thanks Mike and John for your comments) was all to do with whether or not I’m up to being a researcher. I suddenly find myself involved in research - and its hard!
Today I decided I would do a quick internet search on ‘What makes a good researcher’ - to check on whether I’m up to this or whether I should just Somehow - I’m not quite sure how - but in the last 12 months or so (when I should be retiring!), According to my quick search (and can we really believe in what we read

For academics, publication in an academic journal is not only important for personal advancement and career developement, but is also important for the University’s research rating. John, Roy and I – with our papers on researching the CCKO8 experience have tried to find the middle way – a respected conference in which to publish, but a conference that publishes papers online – for wider dissemination.
In another meeting this week there was discussion about whether it was worth the time trying to publish in academic journals. A
