PR people need to be careful how they frame an invite to a blogger press event. This social media invite sent to Fashionista highlights some of the issues of running blogger only events.
person that I “had” to come to a Blogger Preview because it was the first one in Australia. I was recently told by a P.R.

« Will All Media Companies Launch Ad Networks? Friendster Beats Facebook to the Punch » Buddy Press Turns Wordpress Into Social Network Posted by Nick ONeill on November 10th, 2007 9:22 PM I have been working on a way to integrate social networking into the Social Times website. According to the Buddy Press website, “BuddyPress will completely transform a vanilla installation of Wordpress MU into a fully functional social network platform.” I have looked at a lot of options one of which

It wasn’t the invention of the printing press per se that caused a revolution; it was when everybody learned to read.
We also see them develop this literacy – such as has been the case of a team of first-time bloggers.

Tags: online communities social networks blogging sacked journalists citizen journalists bailout press typepad social media proprietors blog Sacked journalists take to blogging? I was on Twitter’s party line for the Monday night (USA time) chats on journalism #journchat, and was a little taken aback to see the number of journalists tweeting about losing their job, papers closing, and so on.

8221; arguments about how the Press always diss social media – this is about bloggers teaching journos and learning from them at the same time. I saw that grants are being given to help journalists who are transitioning to new skills:

Maybe it has to do with the fact that bloggers are starting to take on the role that journalists also do, which is undercover investigations – and it didn’t go well for Obama:
Presidential candidate Barack Obama’s campaign has been in full damage control mode since the senator’s blunt remarks about the nature of small town Pennsylvania voters were secretly recorded by a Huffington Post blogger at a recent San Francisco fundraiser that was supposed to be off limits to the press. He should stick to politics – how quickly they forget!

Stilgherrian , debonair blogger and Twitterer and Crikey citizen reporter, is doing stuff for ActionAid Australia. As usual, Stilgherrian is showing traditional media how it’s done – using his blog, Twitter, motivating other bloggers to cover his trip to Tanzania. One of the things I like about blogs is that they are almost as good as a social media press release (and a darn sight better than a normal press release) in that I can usually grab links, Stilgherrian Stilgherrian Wherefore Art Thou Stil? Primarily training people in Tanzania.

In April, when actress Salma Hayek unveiled an ambitious promotion for P&G's Pampers brand, the Google team was stunned to learn that Pampers hadn't invited any "motherhood" bloggers -- women who run popular Web sites about child-rearing -- to attend the press conference. "Where Where are the bloggers?" Google and P&G are both known for their innovation capabilities and strict internal policy. Driven by market forces, they made an exception.

quot; I've done a few tear-stained posts here , including referencing Paper Cuts which the Newsosaur mentions as its blogger, Erica Smith, is keeping a map of where newspapers are disappearing. As per the title, 140 in 2009 gone, kaput. For any of us who got our start getting high on newsprint and printers' ink (legal but so addictive that at 16 I preferred reporting from 3-11 at The Pottstown Mercury to going to the drive-in to meet boys), the transformation from packed newsroom and the ca-thunk of presses churning out papers to sitting alone and googling for sources--while
