And since Saturday, Fisher has received about 1,200 emails from users saying they had whitelisted the site - meaning they had told their ad-blocking software it was okay to show Ars' ads. Why is it that we can't imagine the LA Times treating its readers in the same way as a medium-sized technology blog? So let's be clear - all media companies are struggling as both the basic models they operate under (online and offline) are challenged, and as the economy means they no longer have the cushion of good times.

They tell me how successful they are and then talk to me about changing my path, building a giant email list and making videos.
Gary, on the other hand, talks about building your personal brand through social media by being authentic and “delivering your content by video, podcast, or blog .” I’ll share one of my idiosyncrasies with you, but promise you won’t laugh: Most people go to the library to find books — not me. When I accompany my kids to the library, I take my own books with me to read while waiting for them to finish.

The daily interaction happens mostly through email or a monthly newsletter, which does not always reaches everybody leading to the usual information overload. Valuable information and experiences are lost in individual email folders or are not always communicated outside the project team. New incentives throughout blogging will enhance opportunities for cooperation and lead to a better networking. Email
Email remains the most common communication method within the enterprise. Email can be used for point-to-point communication as well as group communication (through distribution lists or by addressing the message to additional people). While IM is more of a real-time system, email implements a store-and-forward model. Ross Mayfield put forth a pretty interesting question on Twitter (see below). It's a great question - my thoughts below:

Widgets are, hence, little blocks of information which can be added to a blog, mostly in the sidebar. Almost any kind of information can be widgetized and offered in a blog as an additional feature. Why widgets are important and how they can spice up your blog Blogs alone are nice, but with widgets you can upgrade your blog to an information portal and stimulate interactivity. 1647 the total number of incoming emails over at 52 week period, averaging 31,6 emails a week, 4,5 emails a day during those 52 weeks! With a highest number of 60 emails in a single week, and 3 , the lowest number in a single week as well. suppose if you take 3 minutes per email I guess I spent around 13,5 minutes a day working through my corporate email; or if you take, say, 10 minutes per complex And so we move forward into the next challenge on my quest of eventually giving up on e-mail at work. This is an English draft for the second of two articles I wrote on blogging for Dutch magazine Informatie Professional (the first one – Blogging for knowledge workers: incubating ideas ). Practically everything from the study (including interview summaries ) is covered in my blog and Chapter 5. When I interviewed early adopters of weblogs for my PhD research The Dutch version should appear very soon, but I’m too impatient to wait for it to share the draft :) I’ll add the reference/link as soon as it’s there.

Back in 2006 I called it SMS blogging, but now that’s all changed as the major use is the web and desktop applications (incl. Perhaps we can compare it to similar tools like blogs, forums, IM, email, Facebook and RSS Readers, as Ross Mayfield has asked ( Mike Gotta has thoughts on this also).
