Massimo de Angelis report on the Yasuni’s struggle against petroleum extraction in the Ecuadorian Amazon region, based and inspired by their “Mother Earth” related deity Pochamama, clearly discusses the same links we discuss in our section on neotraditional economics, and why these linkages between pre-industrial and post-industrial thinking and practices are important, see here for details.
Yasuni after all is a planetary lung of crucial importance for global climate and biodiversity, as all the rest of the Amazon rain forest.
Massimo De Angelis on the role of Pochama :
“Pochamama is the deity of Andean origin and refers to “mother earth”, not just as geological earth or nature but also as a set of relations, a deity of reproduction, a protective rather than creative deity or perhaps better, a deity for which human creation is just a moment of a reproduction cycle.

have just came back from a conference on the Yasuni area of the Amazon, where in the last 30 years, petroleum enclosures have been threatening the common land of the Waorani and some of the last indigenous peoples still living in isolation in the Amazon. leave aside here the fact that in the recent versions of the proposal this “compensation trust” was substituted with a marketisation of the Yasuni in terms of carbon credit bonds, a mechanism highly criticizable not only because carbon credit markets have been found ineffective to meet the need of carbon reduction and because they tie

When we designed Twitter, we took a different approach—we didn’t require a relationship model like that of a social network. When we’re ready to launch, initial participating sites will include Amazon, AdAge, Bing, Citysearch, Digg, eBay, The Huffington Post, Meebo, MSNBC.com, The New York Times, Salesforce.com, Yahoo!, Or something more?

Social media is very much existent in China, but it’s like it’s on steroids: 298 million internet users, 105 million bloggers, 91 million members on their Bulletin Board Systems or BBS (discussion forums around different topics), and 58 million people on social networks. Much as I like Amazon, that’s not where I go to decide what to buy: but could Amazon or something like it channel prospective buyers in such vast numbers successfully?
I was at a talk on how internet word of mouth (iWOM) works in China a couple of weeks ago. There were a few noteworthy

is “little bits everywhere” – don’t force customers to come to your site, let them do purchase your products on their site, where they are, and let their social network be informed. An overview of social media monetization revenues .
API Widget Economy: Social Media Business Ep.003 from Laurel Papworth on Vimeo .

Social Ripple Social Marketing
The main thing for me was to chat with Affiliate marketers about how social networks pass information around. You don’t need a big social network yourself. They are primarily one-to-many channel (blogger sets theme, tone and subject) and the social network sees the “finished product” - and While you are reading the presentation outline below I’d like you to think about the Twitter change today. Today Twitter turned off “see replies to those I’m not following”.

As a long time Amazon fan (I remember when the site was a solid tan background and only sold books), I’ve been so very impressed with the way their site and their community efforts have developed over the years. It’s disappointing that they don’t get more credit for the sheer volume of community/social features each and every page of their site has.
Sometimes a job description comes across the Community Guy Jobs Board that I simply can’t help but share it’s so cool.
If you’re looking to be part of an impressive team and an impressive product,

design-led approach to solving a business problem is very different to the way most “social media” projects work in real life. The current state of “social media” for many businesses looks more like an episode of MacGyver than Apple’s design process. Armano proposes that the term “social media” is itself part of the problem. Social search is resurfacing as a hot topic of late , due to how effective Twitter has become in helping you find information, and how it is close to how we source information in the offline world (via our network). by connecting you to a social network of people you trust who will be willing to help out in a reciprocal relationship
(which Socialness to findability Twitter is being differentiated by being called a “ Help Engine “.
I think it’s getting us closer to the KM productivity (sense-making) aim that knowledge sharing and knowledge transfer has
