Jill Nemiro, PhD, book author, former actor, and film and video editor, is an expert in virtual teams. It must be close to ten years since I first heard from Jill as she was working on her PhD in an original field: Creativity in Virtual Teams . Her dissertation was so good that it was published - and she's gone on to do several more books.
Looks like some quite solid research from the Economist Intelligence Unit, " Managing virtual teams: Taking a more strategic approach ." quot; In the study, conducted in Fall 2009, a third of those executives surveyed said that their virtual teams were not well managed, yet most endorsed using them nonetheless. We often think of our networks as belonging to us, or our group/team/family. We imagine they have an identifiable beginning and end. We want to draw borders to define "yours" and "mine." Yet, in reality we cannot.

I registered OptusPoo.com.au about a year ago ,to create an online community of people annoyed with Optus. The same time that a number of others got fed up with Optus and created BadOptus etc, to be followed by other bad Optus sites. I’d had shocking service from Optus (the guy told me “yeah I know how to fix it but I’m not going to tell you”) and was in the mood to shine some social media spotlight on to poor customer service in Australia.
